Mandrill


La banda de American funk Mandrill la formaron en 1968 en Brooklyn, NY los hermanos Ric (saxo, voces), Lou (trompeta, voces) y Carlos Wilson (trombón, voces), que empezaron a ensayar en el salón de belleza de su madre. Firmaron con Polydor en 1970, pronto editaron su LP homónimo en el que fusionaban ritmos latinos, africanos y de jazz con el sonido psicodélico de la época. Tras una serie de álbumes de éxito durante la década de los 70, el exitazo del grupo llegó en 1973 con el LP “Composite Truth”, que incluía el single “Fencewalk”. En 1982, grabaron “Montage”.
